BREAKING NEWS
We did it! We worked hard with Assemblywoman Melissa Hardy on getting this bill passed. It did initially fail in the Assembly Judiciary Committee, but the overwelming public backlash brought it back to life. On May 16, 2025, #RebasLaw unanamously passed the Nevada Assembly and on June 2, 2025, despite seven (7) senators, lead by Senator Ira Hansen voting no, it passed by a vote of 14-7.
On June 9, 2025, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo signed #RebasLaw into Law.
Reba's Law now grants civil and criminal immunity for everyone (you don't have to be law enforcement, animal control or other governement official) to break into a vehicle to rescue a pet in distress.
